women317: homecoming

  • Garfield Park Arts Center 2432 Conservatory Dr. Indianapolis, IN

Join us for the next women317, a celebration of our second anniversary and a kickoff for our third year of women-centered work! The theme is homecoming, a show featuring Latina immigrant artists and US-born artists - all women - focusing on the struggles of being undocumented women in Indiana and highlighting ways artists and community advocates can make Hoosierland a more welcoming place for growing immigrant communities.

We are excited to partner with Indy Parks and Indiana Undocumented Youth Alliance for this show! The SPECIAL LOCATION for this show is Garfield Park Arts Center, host of a visual arts show featuring the work of women from all over the city for the month of March. *The gallery reception will take place just before women317 at 6pm.* Additionally, women317 will serve as a fundraiser for IUYA's UndocuHoosier fund, providing scholarships for undocumented students forced to pay out-of-state tuition.

There will be shehive door prizes, light refreshments served, and performances by some of the best women artists in Indianapolis. Performance and visual artists to be announced soon! Mark your calendars now. This is a show you don't want to miss!

All are welcome, but the show and performances are uncensored. The event is completely free, but cash and card donations to UndocuHoosier are welcomed and accepted. We'll see you there!
